04-19-2014 Bunny Hop Easter Egg Hunt

530-888-1585
Streets of Old Town Auburn
Auburn, CA 95603

Streets of Old Town Auburn
Auburn, CA 95603

Old Town Auburn’s newest event, The Bunny-Hop Easter Egg Hunt, will take place on Saturday, April 19th, the day before Easter.
Each participant who completes the full "hop" around Old Town will have one chance to win the “Grand Prize” Bunny-Hopper Easter Basket.
Similar in concept to the Halloween Trick or Treat in old town, participating merchants will exhibit a “numbered” paper plate in the window of their business on the day of the event. The “bunny-hoppers” will visit each shop, with a blank word-game ticket, in search of a hidden egg with a secret word inscribed upon it. Bunny-hoppers then write each business’ corresponding word on the “numbered” slot on the ticket.
Where and when to start
The Event Starting Table is located at the park, next to Tsuda’s Eatery, in Old Town Auburn.
Starting time will be 11am, Ending time is 1:30pm with the drawing for the Grand Prize at 2pm.

05-05-2014 Cinco de Mayo

530-888-1585
Streets of Old Town Auburn
Auburn, CA 95603

A little bit of Mexico comes to Old Town Auburn. Cinco de Mayo is celebrated annually in the United States and Mexico to commemorate the Mexican army beating 6,000 French troops who had invaded the city of Puebla on May 5, 1882. The Folklorico Dancer Troupe from Sacramento, and pony rides by Pony Up in Newcastle, always a favorite with the buckaroos, will be back again this year along with Mobile Rocks climbing wall and piñatas for the children, and a street dance from 8-9pm. Also a Salsa Making contest with local restaurants - tasters determine the winners! Tasting Kits $2.00 each. And, weather permitting… Chano Uribe will bring his “dancing horses” to show off some fancy foot work. As in the past, this year’s celebration is co-sponsored by Sun River Clothing Co, along with Cafe Delicias, and Tio Pepe’s and the Old Town Business Association. Cinco de Mayo is a celebration for families and children and alcohol is not sold or encouraged at this event. Join us for music, food, vendors, piñatas, dancing, and fun for the entire family. We promise to keep the HEAT down!

For general information call: Linda Robinson - Sun River Clothing Co. 530-888-1585 or email at: sunriver@inreach.com

530-888-1585
Various Museums in Old Town and Placer County
Auburn, CA 95603

Website: www.theheritagetrail.blogspot.com/

The 7th Annual Heritage Trail will be held on August 2-3, 2014. Eighteen articipating museums from Roseville to Tahoe will showcase history in a fun and entertaining way. Admission is free to all visitors.

Placer County, California, which crosses the majestic Sierra Nevada was home to a thriving Native American culture, the California Gold Rush, the construction of the Transcontinental Railroad, and an agricultural paradise, which shipped high quality fruit around the world.

The museums, mostly located (within 5 miles) of Interstate 80 between Roseville and North Lake Tahoe, are open from 10-4pm both days. Activities at each museum are varied. For example, visitors to the Placer County Museum in Auburn may meet Alma Bell who was incarcerated in the dingy outdoor granite quarters under the courthouse stairs, watch a blacksmith in action at the Forest Hill Divide Museum, or listen to Native American stories at the Maidu Museum in Roseville. Hands on activities include gold panning, biscuit making, and 19th century games.
Trail Guides will be available at every museum in July.
